The seven chakra system from Indian tradition and the Five Element system from Chinese tradition are two different maps of the same underlying reality: the flow of vital energy through the human body. The Correspondences

Root Chakra (Muladhara) corresponds to Water Element. Located at the base of the spine, the Root Chakra governs survival, security, and foundational energy.
